Gardening tools assist in growing efforts

USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map is a government website that has updated weather changes and reclassified zones to enable gardeners to get the most out of their growing seasons. Two new zones were added; each zone is based upon a 10 F degree change. The new chart looks at thirty years of data from 1976 to 2005, and narrows the zones more specifically than the 1990 chart was able. Northward warming trends are indicated and many northern states saw changes with an increase in their hardiness zone number.
